DRIVING TO START LINES

We do not recommend driving to start lines, as parking space is extremely limited due to road closures for the race.

25K entrants: Reasons NOT to drive to Orapiu on Saturday morning:

  • Parking is extremely limited because of narrow roads around the start line area. Ask a friend to drop you off.
  •  No bus service to Orapiu, so unless you have a guaranteed means of transport to return to collect your vehicle later in the day, you’ve got a long walk back.
  •  The earliest Sealink Ferry does not arrive at Kennedy Point in time for you to drive and park at Matiatia to catch the Fun Run ferry to Orapiu. Travel to Waiheke and stay overnight on Friday if you plan to bring your car over.

12K entrants: At Onetangi please allow time to find a car park on Second, Third or Fourth Ave. The Strand will be closed to traffic from 8:00AM onward.

5K entrants: At Surfdale, entrance to Blake Street will be closed for safety reasons. Please use the dedicated car park by Stefano’s/Ideal Electric and walk along to Blake Street.  Access to the Old Post Office car park will be restricted for the safety of runners and walkers in the longer distance events.
