The Waiheke Wharf2Wharf 2017 event will be supporting two great charities: The Jassy Dean Trust and our new (for 2017) charity Oxfam New Zealand. You can support these charities by making a donation of $5 or $10 or $25 when you register for your event or see below if you want to help further.

Jassy Dean Trust
The Jassy Dean Trust is a voluntary for-community-profit organisation that raises funds so Waiheke children’s health & medical wellbeing can be better cared for. They have been supporting sick Waiheke Children and their families since 1994. They provide financial support for both emergency and ongoing health issues as well as preventative care and education. The Trust works entirely on a volunteer basis and are dedicated to making a difference in the lives of Waiheke children in need of help.

In 2017 The Jassy Dean Trust will have one fundraising group which can be supported through their Give A Little page which will consist of the Jassy Dean Trust crew and any other people keen to do the event for the Trust. They will be focusing all their funds raised towards childhood diabetes. There is a growing number of children on Waiheke Island with diabetes and any funds raised would go towards assisting them with unfunded medications and assistive technology over the coming year.

Our new National charity is Oxfam New Zealand. Oxfam New Zealaind is part of Oxfam, an international confederation working to end the injustice of poverty. They will be using the Waiheke Wharf2Wharf as a warm up for their annual event the Oxfam Trailwalker.
The Oxfam Trailwalker is an incredible team challenge and truly amazing experience. On March 25-26 in Whakatāne teams of four will challenge themselves and poverty by walking or running 100km or 50km together while fundraising to help save and improve lives. They aim to raise $1,000,000 and we aim to help them achieve their goal.
